I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Kentucky, focusing on international relations and comparative politics. My research concentrates on issues related to civil-military relations, conflict processes, international organizations, and democratization, and has been published in the Journal of Conflict Resolution and the Journal of Peace Research. I am particularly interested in the phenomenon of the coup d'etat and with Dr. Clayton Thyne have recently completed a dataset that includes all successful and failed coup attempts from 1950 to the present. We hope to expand upon this effort and have a grant under review with the National Science Foundation and Department of Defense.
